„No win - no fee“ - The Remoovo®-Principle
Our removal guide shows you step by step how to delete a fake Google review, either yourself or with our help. Read on to find out how it works.
There are countless removal services online if you want to have a Google review deleted. You have almost certainly received one of those pestering marketing emails yourself. The fees these services charge for removing a review are often steep – yet hiring a removal service is not necessary at all, because you can do exactly what they offer yourself.
Remoovo® – your ultimate removal service.

Dispute the customer contact yourself
Google has to delete the review if you submit a substantiated complaint. Often it is enough to dispute that there was ever any customer contact – many removal services do precisely that and nothing more. You can do this yourself!
Instruct us
We report the missing customer contact to Google on your behalf, nothing more.
The simplest way to do it
Simply use the complaints form Google provides. That way you can be sure your complaint actually reaches Google and is read there. It saves you the fees charged by a removal service provider.

„How to delete your own Google review“
You can delete a review that you left yourself about a business that annoyed you, for whatever reason. Proceed as follows:
Step 1: On a computer (Maps)
Step 2: On a smartphone
The Google review is then deleted immediately.
„Why pay a removal agency?“
Google provides a complaints form that lets you delete fake Google reviews, for example, yourself and free of charge.
Step 1: Sign in to your Google profile
Sign in to the Google profile you use to administer your Google Business Profile. Then navigate to the Google reporting form that lets you request the removal of content on legal grounds. You will find it here.
Step 2: Fill in the form
You might complete the form as follows if you have been reviewed by somebody who was not one of your customers, or who has had no first-hand experience of your business:
Go to the review and copy its URL. In the form, first enter the country – for example „Germany“ if the business is located in Germany. Then enter your name and confirm that you are acting on your own behalf. Now paste the review URL you have just copied under „URL 1“. As your reason, write something like the following in the next field: "This review must be deleted because the reviewer was not a customer". You might alternatively use the sentence „This review breaches Google’s policies and must be removed immediately“ if there are in fact breaches of Google’s policies; you can check that here. Then tick the box confirming that all the information you have given is true, add your signature and click „Submit“. It goes without saying that all the information you provide must be true.
Step 3: Wait for the removal
Once you have submitted the form, Google immediately sends you an acknowledgement of receipt with a reference number. Be sure to make a note of that number. Google then examines whether the review breaches its policies. You can expect removal within 1–7 days. If it works, you will have deleted your Google review free of charge.
Google is obliged to delete fake reviews. These are reviews that do not come from genuine customers. As your reason for removing a fake review under step 2, you can therefore also use the following text as a template: "The reviewer is not a customer of my business".
Step 4: Follow-up questions from Google
Sometimes Google also comes back to you with a query by email. If you have submitted your request and receive an email from Google a few days or weeks later asking, among other things, „It is not clear to us whether you are the person whose rights are allegedly being infringed.“, simply reply „Dear Sir or Madam, my own legal rights are affected“, as applicable to your case. Google will then presumably process your removal request and delete the review.
Tip: If you can clearly identify the reviewer because they reviewed you under their real name, and that person is spreading untruths about your business, you have the option of instructing a lawyer to issue a formal warning letter (Abmahnung). They then have to delete the Google review and sign a cease-and-desist declaration. So there are often several routes to getting a Google review deleted.

FAQ – deleting a Google review
In principle, only people who have had genuine first-hand experience of a business are allowed to review it. The courts, however, disagree on how extensive or specific that experience has to be – for instance, whether actual treatment by the doctor is required, or whether a telephone enquiry is already enough.
Many of those affected by negative Google reviews want to know who reviewed them. However, if the reviewer does not use a real name and cannot be identified from the circumstances described, their identity usually remains unknown. An IP address is stored by Google with every review, but the platform operator only has to disclose it if the content is relevant under criminal law (an insult, for example). In such cases, disclosure can be enforced through a criminal complaint or an application to the Regional Court (Landgericht). The effort involved is considerable, though, and usually out of all proportion to the likely benefit.
Google offers the review function in order to make the search experience as helpful and transparent as possible. Google reviews therefore cannot be disabled. Nor can businesses compel Google to switch reviews off altogether, because the German courts take the view that businesses active in the market must in principle accept being reviewed. You can, however, use our removal service if you would like to delete your Google Business Profile.
First of all, bear in mind that any negative Google review can damage your reputation – that is simply the nature of such reviews. Not every bad review is unlawful, however. If reports online are anything to go by, the prospects of removal are best when you dispute having had any customer contact with the reviewer – and of course it must genuinely be true that you do not know them.
If the advice found online is anything to go by, older reviews with no text or image are the easiest to have deleted. Very recent, detailed Google reviews are therefore considerably harder to remove than older, short entries – all the more so if the review also includes pictures.
If Google does not respond to your substantiated complaint or does not delete the review, your best course is to seek advice from a specialist law firm. Removing Google reviews calls for expert handling in some cases, particularly where the reviewer was a genuine customer and is making untrue claims. A lawyer can issue an immediate formal warning against the author or sue them. Lawyers may also bring proceedings against Google before the Regional Court.

Google reviews can be deleted if they contain false statements or insults, or if they do not come from a customer. Do seek advice from a lawyer, who is permitted to give you legal advice on your individual case. We are not permitted to do so, because we do not hold the authorisation required to carry out such individual case assessments.
What we are permitted to do for you: submit a complaint to Google on your behalf on the grounds of a "fake review", where the review did not come from a genuine customer.
„Protect your good reputation.“
Follow the guide above if you want to delete a negative Google review. All we can do is provide technical support in passing your removal request on to Google, where the review in question is a fake.
